Honouring Kirsten
The calm behind the storm. The reason this book exists at all.
There are things in life a person cannot accomplish alone. Not because they are weak or uncommitted, but because some mountains require two hearts steadying the same climb.
This entire project—the book, the website, the movement, the breath practices, the pages, the endless nights—would not exist without Kirsten.
Only as a couple can two people make a commitment that bends time. Only as a couple can you say: “We’ll get through this. One more push. Keep going.” — and actually mean it.
While I disappeared into the work, Kirsten carried the world in the background:
She could have said, “Just stop.” She never did. She knew what this meant to me, to us, and to the people this work is meant to reach.
This wasn’t built out of talent alone. It wasn’t built out of discipline, or cold showers, or breathwork, or six-hour writing sessions.
It was built out of love. Her love. The kind that asks nothing, expects nothing, but quietly gives everything.
You held the silence while I fought the noise. You held the light when I couldn’t find my own. You stood still so I could move. And in every unseen moment, your love built the path that this work has brought to life.
Kirsten — this book, this project, this entire chapter of our lives exists because you believed in me when I couldn’t see straight.
It would not, and could not, have happened without you.
My love, my partner, my north star — thank you.
I love you.
